Not much in terms of content this time around so this will be a quick post. Still, it was fun to see exactly how things work on an expedition ship and what the crew members have to do while they journey to their destination. As we saw from the post-credit scene, the waves were really choppy the closer they got to Antarctica. It was explained that since Earth is a water planet, there are different levels of wind and currents depending where land mass is. Since the Southern Hemisphere has the little to no land, or land that is far away, it makes the waves even more severe. With the area between Australia and Antarctica being devoid of any land mass, the ocean is at its fiercest.
But before they hit the worse part of their journey, the girls get accustomed to life on the ship and we learn a couple things as well. We see them start off with some interviews, and as usual Shirase is a nervous wreck with, pushing the mic into someone’s face without realizing she was doing something wrong. In terms of living on the ship, the girls have to balance their TV work and their work helping out with the crew, in this case, the kitchen. They also learn that the crew has mandatory exercise every day on the ship deck in order to build up their stamina for the harsh conditions they’ll need to face in Antarctica. It turns out to be very difficult for them, all of them astonished that all the other crew members jog with ease. But they face a bigger obstacle as the rocking of the boat causes them to get major seasickness, where it becomes so bad that they’re constantly vomiting and barely have any energy, where they can’t even keep their food down. But Kanae advises them to still keep their same routine until they get used to it.
This gives us a good look into the conditions of this type of expedition. It was great seeing something like this because it gives us a different look into this trip to Antarctica. So far it’s been sunshine and rainbows but because their journey has officially started, we’ve gotten to see a different side to all this and I’m sure we’ll see more when they finally make it to Antarctica. However, I think some emotions are going to pour out too from the flowers we saw from Gin.
Unfortunately we didn’t get a significant backstory about Onizuka. I had hoped they would show us more about how he became the man he is today, driven by the desire to entertain the children. Instead, all we got was a very recent “development”, where when there were no fans to cheer for him, he realized he fights alone, 
The first half was a fun watch but I kind of feel bad for poor Yuki. I’ve already talked about how much I love Inomata, so any more screen time with her and character development for her is great and all, but I really want to know more about Yuki. She’s very cute and all the boys in her class have a crush on her, and she seems like a nice girl. Unfortunately she’s scared that Ryu has his eyes on Inomata, though she probably doesn’t have to worry too much because he’s kind of an idiot. I’d like to get a segment to see why Yuki fell for Kashima. For Inomata it’s obvious, ever since he accepted her and told her that he liked the serious side of her personality, she’s fallen for him but being as big a tsundere as she is, she won’t admit it. I thought it really cute that Kirin and Kotaro wanted to play with Inomata because she hasn’t visited them in awhile, and I thought it was even more cute and hilarious that they tried their best to show Inomata Ryu’s good side when they mistook her saying she hated him. Though it was easy for them to misunderstand since she made it sound that way.
On another day, Hakumei and Mikochi bring Konju by to get a haircut from Jada. However they’re out of luck: Jada is having a day off and has been drinking her homemade limoncello, so she’s not quite sober enough to be touching styling scissors. Upon sampling it the girls discover that Jada’s alcoholic drink is a little too bitter and sour, but Mikochi is easily able to tell Jada how to fix the problem.
name clothing, and it’s not long before Mikochi falls in love with one particular style (“Night Snail” by Needle Princess). While Mikochi and Hakumei are looking for the other pieces of the outfit, the shopkeeper talks Iwashi into trying some clothes.
Although it is nothing new for precures to be gathering a source of power to complete an objective, usually leading up to their next power-up or newest member, but this time, it felt a little bit different- in a good way. Of course maybe it’s just me, but I felt the the overall mood when Harry opened up to them about what had happened to their homeland was a lot more serious in comparison to some of the other series. It think what also contributed to that element was how Hana was a lot more conscious of what could happen to her own world, thanks to having witnessed Hugtan’s memories through her dream, along with the fact Harry did not tell her this in his “Hariham” form.
It amused me however how the general purpose of the episode was actually pursuing what Hugtan was looking for, and that is the third Precure (Homare). At first I thought she was looking for specific power source, the Mirai Crystal White – but seeing it move around, I suspected it had to be a precure related. Sure enough it was her, because everywhere she went, the tracker on the Mirai Pad followed. The girls of course didn’t catch onto this, but it looks like Homare will finally be joining the team next week, or so I would imagine based off the preview. But why do I have this impression she suffered from a leg/foot injury? She wants to fly again, I remember seeing her skate in the preview I think (though maybe I should take that with a grain of salt). That being said though, she has quite an amusing personality. Cool and collected on the surface, but absolutely melts whenever she sees cute things. Also shown us a bit of her gloomy side, where she longs to fly again.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable Lulu? Who cares she only had like maybe a minute of screentime, I already love her! First off I adore her character design, it’s quite refined, matching her chilled personality and cool abilities to do a search on a whim of tracking where the Mirai Crystal White is located. But as much as I’d love to gush about her some more, she did mention another important detail: that is how they are specifically searching for a Precure. Not a crystal, but an actual precure. Chances are this precure is Hugtan, and nobody can find her because she’s a babe, the last thing the villains are probably expecting to find. It is also quite telling how at the end of the day, it’s Hugtan who needs the Mirai Crystals, making sound more like she is the one who has been depleted of power.
