I feel bad for Saiki because all he wants to do is relax and not be bothered by people, but he still gets bothered anyways. Part of me thinks Saiki would be sad if he wasn’t bothered, but I know he won’t because he is psychic. But anyways the show awaits us!!

The PK Psykicks. Not the name a pro soccer team of psychics, sadly. It’s three that always try to out do each other using their psychic abilites: Mikoto, Tortisuka, and Saiki( okay, Saiki isn’t trying to out do anyone in this situation, he just wants to get out of the situation).
Tortisuka is my favorite character as previously mentioned, but at the same time I wonder why I love characters with such bad traits( I’ll share more characters I love at the end of this post). I just like weird characters with some weird personalities. The reason the Psykicks were brought together today is because Tortisuka is trying to a catch a cute girl’s cat, who apparently seems to hate everyone.
So they start fighting about who has the best powers to find the cat, but Saiki is sick and tired of that and he goes and gets the cat himself.
And then after that Mikoto sees a vision that a train is going to crash and people are going to die, so Saiki and Tortisuka teleport to the top and train and Saiki tells him to get the spirit of a veteran train conductor so they can stop the train from crashing. It worked! And now Tortisuka is getting dragged away by the police.
Then that Teruhashi drawing scene almost made me die. They were so concerned about the way they drew each other. Saiki can draw too well, so he has to “ dumb” down his art and Teruhashi, well, wants to draw Saiki average looking and get his attention. So in the end, Saiki ends up with a blank page and Teruhashi has an average drawing of Saiki, because she ripped the first one( because she doesn’t want anyone to know she likes Saiki).
I’ll let you know, if you like someone, you let everyone in this b*tch know( and you sound really bubbly when you talk about them).
Like my friend is going to prom with this guy( who asked her during break) and the teacher asked how everyone’s break was. And my friend said “ I talked to some new people” and everyone who knew that she talked to that guy said “OOOOO” all at once and I laughed so hard. I got sidetracked, but I had to talk about love.
Saiki’s parents love each other, but they like to make everything a competition and they often use Saiki to facilitate these competitions. Saiki was trying to get out of their real quick when he saw his parents fighting, but he didn’t make it out on time. He really was trying super hard to not make it obvious, but he made it real obvious at the same time.
He had to use a love meter to show how much they loved each other, but the best part of this entire thing that Saiki got the short end of the stick. So they said, if we can’t beat our competition of love, they said lets beat in a competition of love for our son! Saiki’s mom’s love rating didn’t move and Saiki’s father backed out because he knew he couldn’t win. Then do his parents love him at all….I started laughing a little. I’d like to think my parents love me a little, but sometimes they really don’t because they have to do so much for their children and get no reward( pretty much no reward).
Last part. I hate that rich kid as a character, but he really brings comedy to show in a good way. Also, if Saiko’s father really wanted to teach him humility, he would have done this years ago and not before he was all arrogant…but anyways, he learned a little something. He likes ramen. And that is it. And he also learned that peasants live weirder than he thought( but I think he already knew that in his head).
When Nendou says “ You don’t know where your own house is?” I died. And my window was open and the neighbors were outside. Ouch. Also, the rich kid just took a big L.
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell y’all what my favorite character from other shows are. From Naruto, it would have to be Jirya or Shikimaru. My favorite character from the TV show Archer would have to be Cyborg Barry, Llona, or Pam. My favorite main character from Riverdale is Jughead and my favorite character nobody gives a crap about is the photographer girl( can’t even remember her name).
And also someone in the forum was talking about who would win in a battle between Goku, Saitama, and Saiki. Who would win??? I don’t know know the extent of Goku’s power, but I know if Saitama punches you one time, you’ll die. If Saiki pulls out his limiters, he could probably kill someone with one punch too and if he uses all the rest of his powers( telepathy, teloporting, etc..). He would technically win, there is no doubt about that. I’ll talk about this more next week.
Oh, yeah, we are halfway through this show by the way! Whoop, whoop!
Next week, baseball. A completely average sport.
We see more characters near the end, such as this terrifying Lieutenant Tsurumi in charge of the 7th Division, and Hijikata makes his appearance in the end. We have three groups of people that are inevitably going to meet each other soon as they search for the prisoners and the gold: Group 1 being Sugimoto and Asirpa, Group 2 as the 7th Division, and Group 3 being Hijikata’s gang. As if that other soldier Sugimoto faced off wasn’t warning enough, Tsurumi doesn’t seem like the type of man that will show any mercy, like the man that spared Asirpa her life. And from that small flashback scene we saw of Hijikata, he doesn’t look any better either. It’ll be a blood bath for sure.
And man I love Asirpa! I don’t like repeating myself, but I love everything about her. I love her pride about her culture, I love how intelligent she is, and I love that even though she is not like a typical Ainu female (not liking weaving, etc.) she still is very proud of herself and her people and considers herself a new type of Ainu woman. And…yes!! I love that! She hunts, but she doesn’t weave and make clothes, and for now doesn’t want her tattoos, but she doesn’t hate or denounce her culture. I also love watching her teach Sugimoto more things about the Ainu culture. Very interesting and strange, the Ainu give their children gross names to drive demons away from them, and when they reach their 6th birthday, they get names that reflect who they are and the things that’s happened in their life. Very interesting, but odd. The ritual they’re going to do with the bear in the future is kind of sad and beautiful at the same time, but I totally understand why Asirpa warned Sugimoto not to get too attached.
There, they could take any form they wanted and shunned any memories of their previous lives. It was up to a ragtag group to enter the dreams and convince the witches to return to real life by facing their problems. If this episode of Caligula was mixed into 18if I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference. And that’s not necessarily a compliment.
All in all, there’s still a lot more questions that need to be answered but this is only episode three so I’m still excited to see where the plot goes. This could just be a dud of an episode and the next will put us back on track. These were just some of the thoughts that passed through my head as I watched.
After Jericho manages, with a little help from Elaine, to get them into a cave to try and hide, they come across a… peculiar man. At first glance he seems rather pathetic if not somewhat endearing with his meak presence. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Galand and Melascula actually have a fun relationship and they seem to get along way more than they care to admit. Their little bonding over getting drunk together was pretty funny and the fact that alcohol is the one thing that has gotten better over time is also hilarious. It was fun to see the funny side of these two since… 9/10 of the time is them being terrifying. Maybe it was mood whiplash, but I think it needed some levity, especially over what transpired last episode with all the feels and emotional stress. Can I also say that Galand’s voice actor is just 10/10 and absolutely perfect for the character? His way of speaking is just so much fun that I look forward to his performances.
I have to say that the fact that Galand couldn’t even LIFT that battle axe already says something. The guy can crush mountains, but he couldn’t lift the axe. And then… the moment EVERYONE and their grandmothers have been waiting for… the final sin of Pride had finally made his entrance and man was it GLORIOUS. If you thought you’d known what OP was in this series, you’d probably have to take a step back because Escanor just threw that bar to the sun. Escanor is a total BEAST and his boasting does not come unwarranted. The only part of criticism I can say is how Escanor’s first strike against Galand in the manga had so much more impact than in the episode. In the manga, you can see Galand’s body still upright even after he’d been cut in two, but it went by way too fast in the anime. However, the moment was still awesome as heck! Melascula’s expression is also 10/10. It just screams how shocked and TERRIFIED she was.
But Galand’s defeat was pretty tame compared to what happened to Melascula. Even with his soul extracted from his body, Escanor’s soul was so powerful that he BURNED her from the inside out. Prooobably one of the worst ways to go if you ask me. Even Ban wouldn’t have been able to escape with his soul being eaten. Escanor is just that much of a BEAST. Which brings up a lot of questions of what exactly is Escanor. He claims he’s only human but… to what extent? Probably won’t be answered this season so lets put a pin in that thought for now. The only thing we are made aware of Escanor is how freaking OP he gets depending on how high the sun is during the day. This series just loves it’s OP characters. To think that at the start of the series, Galand was absolutely destroying Meliodas’ group only to be topped off by one man. Escanor took TWO commandments down by himself. I can’t even… if that’s not overwhelming strength, I don’t know what is.
The whole situation with Kamoshida is just so messed up. We find out that he has been forcing his advances on Ann in exchange to keep Shiho on the starting lineup. And while I can understand why Ann is doing this… the whole situation is just wrong and nobody should have to go through any of this. In the long run, what Ann is doing really isn’t helping anyone. Not herself, not Shiho. Yes, Shiho has a chance to get a scholarship for her efforts in volleyball, but to be abused mentally, emotionally and physically everyday during practice… is it really worth it? Even Ann had second thoughts on taking up Kamoshida’s offer to go to his apartment if it meant helping Shiho with her dream. NO ONE, should EVER have to make a decision like that and it just pains me to see these girls have to suffer like this. They feel powerless in this situation and because they’re so young, they don’t know what to do since they feel like no one else will help them. It makes it even more despicable that something like this actually did happen at a Japanese school and Kamoshida is based off of an actual person. It’s sickening.
I didn’t like how this part was done with all of them running into the office to confront Kamoshida. In the game (I know, I know, this is getting old but I can’t help it) Ryuji, consumed with rage runs off on his own to confront Kamoshida with Ren and Mishima running after to try and stop him from what he might do. It was such an emotional moment and I felt like it was incredibly watered down here and it was a bit disappointing. Especially since this is the part where you WANT this guy to be brought to justice. You WANT him to pay for his crimes. And it’s the breaking point where the Phantom Thieves are forced to act to bring this scumbag of a teacher to justice. The episode just lacked the punch and emotion. It was also kind of a disservice to Ryuji’s character. He’s a guy driven by emotion and he seemed to be lacking a lot of his usual attitude in this moment. Yes he got mad and almost punched him, but it almost felt forced from what we’ve seen up to this point. There just isn’t enough emotion in these scenes and it’s kind of sad.
The fact that Shadow Kamoshida FORGOT Shiho’s name after what he did to her is just DESPICABLE. Even throwing the blame on Ann, which is even more of a low blow. So the fact that Ann comes to stand up against him and strive to bring this vile man to justice, is a powerful moment since she has thrown away the her that felt trapped and powerless, awakening her persona, Carmen. In the metaverse she can truly fight for the justice she seeks for her friend.
Though things get even more awkward when Narumi flat out says that Kabakura is more her type than Hirotaka… with the man standing right next to her. Smooth… The next series of sequences has to be the best part of the episode with game-like choices popping up on the screen. (Narumi also making 10/10 expressions once again) I was DYING of laughter when Hirotaka was giving the backstory of Hanako and Kabakura being the two volleyball captains on their respective teams in high school and Narumi was slowly sliding out of frame with each passing moment. The face that Narumi was making while sprinting and hitting the elevator button was TOO GOOD. Her frantic noises were also pretty hilarious.
The second half of the episode was the group of otakus going to the bookstore…well more specifically, an anime/manga bookstore, heh. That Mahoutsukai no Yome nod was actually pretty great. (especially since I just started watching that series lol) Kabakura’s self-consciousness of his otaku interests can be seen as kind of annoying, but I can actually relate. I tend to keep my anime interests on the downlow towards people I just met or don’t know too well, like my coworkers for instance. I don’t necessarily hide my interests, but I don’t exactly bring attention to it either. Kabakura’s annoyed “I love it” towards the manga Hirotaka was showing him was pretty hilarious. Especially since he just took the manga out of his hands and went about as if he was going to go buy it in the most nonchalant way.
Yuri’s serious, and he definitely considers Joe an opponent. Also, can I just say that the training machine Yuri uses is badass as heck. Reminds me a bit of Ping Pong the Animation with its super conveyor belt training.
Sachio’s knowledge of Megalo Boxing piqued my interest, and it’s clear that his parents(?) or whoever is on that picture in his hat, have been an influence in that. I’m not sure why he’s a member of this ragtag group of kids though. They don’t seem to have a home at all. What happened to Sachio’s parents that makes him want to go to Megalonia? Are they there? We’ll see.
However, I did not expect the prototype gear to fall apart so quickly. I forgot that belly button thug doesn’t wear gloves, so the damage to the gears is increased exponentially. The music was hype as hell, and Joe choosing to fight without his gear was the only way to go! The shot of Joe rising up to the looming shadow of the thug was amazing, and Joe’s maneuver where he gets cut in the process was spectacular.
