When Pokemon GO first started. Several trainers were just excited to play the game and go out to catch some of the favorite creatures from their childhood. It didn’t take long for the theory of it taking 400 candies to evolve Magikarp to hit the streets. For many trainers, this just seemed so unreal due to the number of candies it took to evolve most of the Pokemon trainers caught daily.
Magikarp Candies
After pictures spread throughout Reddit proving it did indeed take 400 candies to evolve this useless Pokemon. It showed Niantic knew Magikarps true power after it evolved. It is actually quite fun to try and get 400 candies to evolve a Pokemon. Though, Magikarp isn’t the only useless Pokemon in the game.
The next “useless” Pokemon entered the game during generation 3. Game Freak really seemed to enjoy the orange fish that did nothing but splashed around. So much so, a new Pokemon would pair up with Magikarp.
Pokémon GO: Powerful Magikarp’s Dominating Raids Everywhere!
While Gyarados has a chance of being both male and female. When actually looking at these 2 Pokemon It seems like they could have gotten away with making Gyarados a male-only Pokemon along with Milotic a Female only Pokemon.
In fact, you need a female Feebas in order to get this majestic looking Gyarados. It would only make since for Feebas to take 400 candies to evolve into Milotic, or maybe 200 because it will be a bit harder to find.
In the games. Feebas was a pain to find. It only spawned in one lake. Within the lake, it had 4 tiles it would spawn on. Meaning you had to get lucky and find the right tile to fish on. While it isn’t certain yet if Milotic will take 400 candies. The chances are fairly high at this time.
Many trainers are actually hoping for it to be 400 candies mostly because of the resemblance Feebas has of Magikarp. It’s not certain how strong Milotic will be at this point either. Though, if it took 400 candies to evolve. Milotic better compare to Gyarados’s stats. Otherwise, it would be a waste to collect the candies other than for the Pokedex entry.

Thought tons of generation 3 Pokemon would take over this Pokemon place? Guess you were wrong. While only being bumped down by one. Alakazam still holds a high rank on this list. However, it’s one of the squishiest of them all. It’s maxed attack power is 271.
Dragonite
This well sought Pokemon is hard to get for some trainers places 3rd on this list. It’s max attack power is 263. If only it were as viable as it used to be. Slaking is out now. Who wants a Dragonite?
