Hey guys. As we all know that Persona 5 is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It is the sixth installment released in the series. The game was released in Japan back in September 2016, and it worldwide in April 2017, where it was published by Atlus in Japan and North America.
After the success of the game, Atlus has made some big announcements for the upcoming anime. The anime is titled “Persona 5: The Animation.” The first key art for Persona 5: The Animation has also been released. The studio revealed that a anime will be coming out for Persona 5 back in July. The studio also revealed that the anime will premiere April of next year. And a good news for the fans is that the anime will feature the voice cast from the game. A first look image of the anime was also released. In the photo, the protagonist is shown in streets of Shibuya.
The main character will be voiced by Jun Fukuyama. Ann Takamaki will be voiced by Nana Mizuki. Ryuji Sakamoto, Morgana, and Yusuke Kitagawa will be played by Miyano Mamoru, Ikue Otani, and Tomokazu Sugita, respectively. Rina Sato will be back as Makoto Niijima, Aoi Yūki as Futaba Sakura, Haruka Tomatsu as Haru Okumura and Soichiro Hoshi as Goro Akechi. An official website has also been set up for the anime. Atlus has also revealed a big detail about the main character. In the official manga adaptation, the main character is called Akira Kurusu, with his codename being Joker.
However in Persona 5: The Animation, he will go by the name Ren Amamiya. This isn’t the first time when Atlus have changed the name of the character. It can be traced back to “Persona 4” in which the hero’s name was Yu Narukami’s, however it was changed to Souji Seta for the manga adaptation.
Anyway the fans are really looking forward to the anime. With the next year almost upon us, we won’t have to wait for long till the anime finally drops.
