Pokemon Go Shiny Update With Legendary In The Air? – OtakuKart

For anyone who was playing Pokemon Go yesterday, there were several pleasant surprises waiting for you.First of all, there were plenty of Pikachus to catch, all of which had the special Surf move. While this might not have been big enough to impress most fans, there was also something else very special happening too.

Because of the increase in Pikachu’s spawning, there was also a large rise in the changes of catching a shiny.A shiny Pikachu with the move Surf certainly made the short-lived Community Day a bit more interesting. The first reports indicated that 10% of all the event Pikachus found during the Community Day were Shiny.

Shiny Pikachu

The best news is that these effects will likely be active in all future Pokemon Community Days too, meaning that Shiny hunting could become the main draw of each monthly event. Here’s feedback from one impressed fan, who wrote: “I know a lot of us were/are disappointed with community day when it first got announced. Personally, a Pikachu with a new move isn’t too appealing for me.

“However, when we found out the Pikachu wasn’t an event Pokémon and the shiny rate got boosted, my interest went up significantly. I already had a shiny Pikachu, but my girlfriend got one on her first one today! This honestly made community day so much more fun. I hope in the future this is how they introduce new shinies into the game.”

It follows news of a recent Pokemon Go update sparking rumors that the next wave of Gen 3 Pokemon could be released very soon.Several unreleased Pokemon saw their moves updated, along with a range of other bug fixes and performance tweaks. The new update also comes with a brand new loading screen that may have revealed the next new Gen 3 Pokemon.

It features a selection of Pokemon celebrating the start of 2018, some of them not yet available to catch. This includes previously unreleased Pokemon Loudred, which was one of the Pokemon to see a move update. With the general update and bug fix two recent tweaks to Pokemon Go’s GAME_MASTER file indicate that some more “Gen 3” Pokemon are coming soon. A popular data miner that goes by /u/Charles on Reddit posted about two recent changes to the datafile that defines many of the moves and functions of the game.

Developers recently tweaked how long Vibrava’s dodge animation takes and changed Loudred’s moveset by adding “Stomp” and removing “Crunch” from its charge move pool.

Vibrava is the pre-evolved form of the popular Pokemon Flygon, while Loudred is the pre-evolved form of Exploud. Both are among the 60 or so “Gen 3” Pokemon that haven’t yet been added to the game, and all these new guys have been spotted in new loading screen which indicates their launch.

Pokemon Go hasn’t given any official indications as to when they’ll be adding more Pokemon to the game, although more are expected in the next month or so. Twenty Water-Type Pokemon were added to Pokemon Go shortly before Christmas and the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre was added as a raid boss earlier in January 2018.

While the tweaks indicate that some more Pokemon could appear in Pokemon Go soon, developers have yet to add image assets to the GAME_MASTER file, which means that they’re not quite ready to go yet. That means that players should expect any new Pokemon to appear as part of the upcoming “Community Day” mini-event.

Admittedly, it’s a bit surprising that Pokemon Go tweaked Vibrava and Loudred, as neither Pokemon are particularly powerful or expected to get much use in the game. Most players don’t use middle evolutions very much in gyms, so we’re not sure if these changes will ever really make an impact in the game.

Still, the fact that Pokemon Go developers are prepping more Pokemon for release should excite many players. While Pokemon Go had hoped that players would focus on battling Kyogre for the next few weeks, many players are reporting that raid attendance has suffered as a result of “raid fatigue” from months of attending raids on a daily/weekly basis. Considering that frustration is already high due to the frustrating lack of EX Raid invites, Pokemon Go might need to get more Pokemon ready to help restore excitement to many players.

Kyogre was added to Legendary Pokemon Go raids by Niantic on Friday.Trainers can now try their luck at bringing down the meaty Legendary until February 14.Something you might not know is that the Pokemon Company like to post official guides on how to counter the strength of the latest Pocket Monsters launched in-game.

For instance, being a Water-type Pokemon, Kyogre is weak only against Electric- and Grass-type attacks.

electric

Its sole Fast Attack—Waterfall—is a Water-type attack, while its Charged Attack may be an Electric-type Thunder, Ice-type Blizzard, or Water-type Hydro Pump,” the Pokemon Company explain.Electric-type Pokémon is reliable choices regardless of Kyogre’s moves. Their Electric-type attacks will deal supereffective damage to Kyogre, while none of Kyogre’s attacks are super effective in return.

Raikou will be the most effective Electric-type Pokémon by far, with Zapdos and Jolteon trailing afterward. It should also be noted that Grass-type Pokémon resists Water-type attacks, so they might be your top performers against a Kyogre that knows Hydro Pump.

And when it comes to countering Kyogre, the Pokemon Company suggests bringing in a Ho-Oh or Gen 3 Groudon for good measure.Since Kyogre only has two weaknesses, you may need to find a few more Pokémon to fill out a party with high CP Pokémon. Keep Kyogre’s attacks in mind. A Kyogre that knows Thunder will have a hard time matching up against a Groudon that knows Solar Beam.

On the other hand, a Kyogre that knows Blizzard gives you an opening to counter with your own Solar Beam wielder in Ho-Oh.Dragonite can be deployed against a Kyogre that knows only Water-type attacks—and don’t forget about Mewtwo for quick bursts of damage if you’re fortunate enough to have caught one.

Number 10 – Milotic

Milotic is an aquatic, serpentine Pokémon with a primarily cream-colored body. It has red eyes with long, pinkish antennae above them. Additionally, there are long, hair-like fins above its eyes, which begin thin and thicken towards the tips. These eyebrows extend to almost half of Milotic’s body length and will be longer on the female than the male. On top of its relatively small head is a straight spike. The tail consists of four large, blue fins with pink ovals in their centers. Each of the tail fins overlaps the next slightly, causing it to resemble a fan. While it has not been depicted, Milotic’s scales are said to change color depending on the viewing angle.

Number 9 – Flygon

MAX CP- 2458
ATTACK – 100

Flygon resembles a slightly insectoid, bipedal dragon. It is primarily light green and has a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with a red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. Its tail has several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It has large eyes and a pair of green antennae that point back. The eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into its eyes. With its wings, it kicks up sandstorms to hide. Its wings make a “singing” sound when they are flapped, earning Flygon the name “The Desert Spirit”. It lives in the desert.

Number 8 – Gardevoir

MAX CP- 2341
ATTACK – 65
DEFENSE – 65
STAMINA – 136

Beginning its life as Ralts (the Pokemon that kinda looks like male genitalia), it’s a little surprising it turns into Gardevoir – who looks a lot like some kind of elegant dancer (and a lot of other things, if you dare to venture into Google Image Search – which reminds us: NEVER GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH ANY POKEMON EVER BUT ESPECIALLY NOT GARDEVOIR). Apart from its traumatic internet legacy, it’s a pretty solid Pokemon (now one of the added Fairy-types), and its Pokedex entries indicate that it would do anything to protect its trainer. Always nice to know your Pokemon has Stockholm’s Syndrome.
