Pokemon Go update was released and it had a feature that every trainer deserved but not needed.Pokemon GO updated version 0.91.1 for Android and 1.61.1 for iOS has a News section in-built in app for a better communication with players.
The new News section appears to have been a large re-work. Now, the unread news appears to be prioritized, marked read, and handled more elegantly thereafter.Give it a spin when news breaks! Perhaps Niantic is planning to make heavier use of this feature to propagate important information about the game and events like Community Day, etc.
News section rework was one of the visible aspects of this update.Inside the APK Data-miners dug out a huge resource of Quest Update.Data-miner community has found out that the update has a dozen or so lines of code related to in-game “quests” or missions for the players to complete on a daily basis. The exact lines of code are :
Previously in Pokemon Go, the daily spin / daily catch bonus was called a ‘Quest’ in the APK.But in the most recent update, this entire section has been reworked and a lot has been added.Data-miners have done their best to piece together how this metadata might suggest the mechanics work together.
According to Data-miners the Quest option is primarily separated into two sections
- STORY_QUEST
- CHALLENGE_QUEST
Quest before the update only had two previous objectives and they were:
- QUEST_FIRST_CATCH_OF_THE_DAY
- QUEST_FIRST_POKESTOP_OF_THE_DAY
And after the update trainers will see many new objectives which clearly shows the best expansion of Quest system:
- QUEST_CATCH_POKEMON
- QUEST_SPIN_POKESTOP
- QUEST_HATCH_EGG
- QUEST_WALK_BUDDY
- QUEST_FEED_POKEMON
- QUEST_WIN_GYM_BATTLE
- QUEST_COMPLETE_RAID_BATTLE
- QUEST_LEVELUP_BADGE
- QUEST_MULTI_PART
Quest Attributes and we see the following attributes of quests:
- Creation Timestamp
- Completion Timestamp
- Rewards
- Status (Active / Completed)
- Multipart
- Context
- Seed
- Goal
It appears that some quests may be gated behind pre-conditions.Such as trainer level, special badges, certain team or something more excited although it seems pretty simple in code. The following appears:
- QUEST_PRECONDITION_UNSET
- QUEST_PRECONDITION_QUEST
- QUEST_PRECONDITION_LEVEL
- QUEST_PRECONDITION_MEDAL
So trainers may be required to earn a medal, achieve a certain Trainer Level, or even have completed a different quest before embarking on a new one.As per mining reports, it looks like there will be multiple kinds of in-game quests in Pokemon Go. Some will be the standard in-game challenges (catch so many Pokemon, take over a gym) but others will involve story missions of some kind.
Niantic is also bringing back the long forgotten Professor Willow as the person running the quests. No word if this will actually lead to some sort of in-game story or details about Pokemon Go’s team leaders, but this could be the more in-depth daily gameplay many players have wanted for months.
Rewards for the quests will include Stardust, items, and XP. Some quests will also have pre-conditions, such as players being a certain level or having a certain badge before players can try to complete them. Some quests will have a single objective, while others will have multiple parts.
The new update has all the code needed to support quests, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Pokemon Go will add quests immediately once the new update goes live. After all, Niantic didn’t mention quests in their update notes, so there’s a slim possibility they could be holding this new feature back. It wouldn’t be the first time that data miners discovered code for new features that weren’t immediately added to the game.
Hopefully, we’ll get more news about these new quests soon. Is Niantic ready to give players a story-based adventure?what do you guys think?Lemme hear all your thoughts in comments or you can get connected with me on Snapchat-Vibsz16 and Instagram. Stay tuned.
Pokemon Go Upcoming Legendary After Kyogre
The next big news would be the raid boss as Kyogre is set to depart from Pokemon Go later in February, so we’ll likely find out its replacement in the next few days.As speculated Rayquaza is said to be appearing very soon.Niantic usually exploits which Legendary will be appearing next. However, this time we haven’t seen much of anything on the next legendary raid after the mighty Kyogre.
This is the first time Niantic has been able to hide something that fans didn’t catch on right away. There is a photo of Rayquaza we see every day. Yet, had no idea this legendary dragon was hidden inside the image.
The loading screen is Niantic’s main source of sharing all kinds of teasers with their fans. This new loading screen has become recently available and everyone just looked over the real message. Let’s see if you guys can see it at first look. It’s actually hidden pretty well.
It might be a little hard to see it at first but on closer inspection. You can actually see what appears to be an eye beside the 8 in “2018”. No, not the confetti that is tricking you into thinking there isn’t anything there. But, the eye that is beside that piece of confetti.
A lot of people are saying it’s just a ghost type Pokemon, however, take a closer look at the eye. And then we will compare it to Rayquaza’s eye. You will see it’s an exact match! Not many other Pokemon shares that kind of eye shape.Data-miners of Pokemon Go town reported something very new and very dazzling.Data-miners noticed that Pokemon Go’s servers were now sending text bundles related to Deoxys and Castform, two of the unreleased “Gen 3” Pokemon. Both Pokemon have multiple forms and the new text bundles include lines of code for all of them.
Pokemon Go was planning to include all of Deoxys’s and Castform’s forms for a while as they were the first Generation 3 to be added, but the text bundles could hint that they could be coming in the very near future. That would be a bit of a surprise in Deoxys’s case, considering that players are expecting Rayquaza to be the next Legendary Pokemon added to the game.
In the main series games, Deoxys has the ability to shift forms as well. Each of Deoxys’s form emphasizes a different stat its Attack Form would have the highest attack stat in Pokemon Go but would have a miserable defense stat
