Episode 8: The Alchemist
Eizan and his judges continues to absolutely piss me off however this episode was extremely satisfying to watch at the same time because we know our boy has this match, Soma always does something different yet interesting in his matches and this time was no exception!
However before I go into what he made (wow I sound like a total food critic or something haha!) I should at least mention how much of a jerk and coward Eizan is, and that’s that in the hopes of getting Soma rild up and maybe even down during the match, he pulled an absolute dick move and sped up the eviction! He sent guys with bats and such to destroy the dorm during the match! Who does that?! I was a little relieved to see them literally fight back those guys but seriously who does that? A coward like him that’s why, he’s an Elite Ten, so he should be able to win with just his skills alone yet he goes to great lengths to get an even bigger advantage while at the same time crushes his opponents spirit and confidence? The losing opponent feels horrible as it is already since great lengths are usually at stake but no he decides to be extra and take it one step further! People like him make me sick and need to be put in their place.
Thankfully our boy Soma does just that and even piss off the living daylights out of him to where Eizan contorts his face into a gross, nasty yet hilarious expression out of anger! You have no idea how satisfied I felt!
Soma decided to go with Gyouza for his dish but he used just the wings of the chicken, removed the bones and filled it with fatty pork as the stuffing, pan fried it, and added Parmesan cheese to compliment it and added a sauce over it that was made with chicken bone stock that has been prepared since before the match started mixed in with soy sauce, sake, vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and ketchup, I thought it was weird when he mentioned ketchup, but when it was explained that it highlights the richness and juiciness of the pork and enhances the elegant after taste of the chicken it actually made more sense and also kinda made me hungry and had the urge to try it….in the end he won completely! Woo!
Episode 9: Hunting The Survivors
After his match Soma returns home where he’s greeted by everyone, they all scolded him but were very grateful nonetheless and celebrated for being able to keep their home! I was a bit disappointed that a few of them suspected Isshiki to side with central, poor fool loves the dorm and they should have known that by now!
Days later Isshiki, Kuga, and one more guy who I can’t remember the name, were released of being part of the Elite Ten, which I saw coming and so did he, but the guy worked on making a thorough rule about central not being able to have ridges shokugeki plus they have to accept challenges from anyone that wants to save their RS, which is awesome of him, I was satisfied.
When they learn there was going to be multiple shokugekis going on at different stadiums they all split up and Soma, Takumi, and Megumi were going to watch as one group, when they get there a weird haired guy who is acting like he has a stick in his behind wouldn’t shut up about how he’s been chosen to be in central and that he’s an elite and blah blah blah and honestly Takumi put him in his place whether the guy knew it or not by saying that the fact he keeps saying he’s an elite and won’t hit up about it is proof of his lack of confidence and esteem and ugh I was so satisfied! I’m looking forward to the annoying guy’s match because Ryou is going up against him and I love watching Ryou’s matches regardless of who he’s up against since he always does something interesting!
