With little information being released by Niantic. Several trainers had lost hope Niantic would return to their famous Pokemon GO AR game after releasing the news of a project to be released next year. While not all hope was lost, Niantic released information on their next event.

Many thought it would be the Thanksgiving event. Though, it shared the same bonuses and gave trainers a new Pokemon to add to their collection. This event is being called the Travel event. Also known as the Global catch challenge.

Trainers were forced to catch Pokemon to unlock the bonuses for the event. After completing a goal, low tier bonuses would be unlocked while trainers worked on catching enough Pokemon to complete the next goal of catching Pokemon.
Having only 3 tiers of rewards it didn’t take long for trainers to complete the global catch challenge which ended on the 26th. Though, Niantic wasn’t very clear on when the event bonuses would end. Many trainers assumed they would see the last of the bonuses on the 26th as well.
It turned out, the event was actually meant to end on the 1st of December. Thankfully, it looks like Niantic had also mentioned the event bonuses would last until the 1st. However, it’s not certain rather or not the event was extended or not. Some say it was mentioned in a video when the event would end.

Though, after seeing Niantic’s newest tweet. It looks like the event didn’t really have an end date. Being busy with the global catch challenge, safari zones, and their new AR game. Surely, it would have been a nice treat for them to just forget about the bonuses they gave us.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. This was a pretty nice event still. Letting many trainers who took a break from the game catch up to their friends level. If you didn’t get enough stardust from the last Stardust event. This one certainly helped. It would be nice if Niantic could give us the amount of experience trainers had gained during the event, just out of curiosity.
